Floyd Mayweather next fight news indicated that Floyd Sr. is excited to see his son collide with Amir Khan in order to silence the Bolton, England native.
Khan has been saying all along that he has all the tools to hand Mayweather Jr. the first defeat of his boxing career, but Mayweather Sr. is convinced that the Briton has no chance against his son. This is the reason why he is looking forward to the showdown because he want to shut Khan's mouth.
"Come on, man. I can't wait. Ain't no way in hell you gonna whoop no Floyd," Mayweather Sr. said via Fighthype. "You crazy! Man, look here, he gonna find out. After Floyd get done putting this whooping' on your ass, you ain't gonna know your way across the street. Floyd's gonna punish him."
Khan, who has been lobbying for a fight against the reigning pound-for-pound king since late last year, said in a recent Floyd Mayweather next fight interview that speed will be his main weapon against the unbeaten champion.
When asked about Khan's statement, Mayweather Sr. that speed won't be a factor if the fighter doesn't know how to maximize his advantage.
"I told you speed is all about timing," Mayweather Sr. said. "It ain't got nothing to do with how fast you are or how fast you throw your punches. If a guy got your timing, you gonna miss him, and if he come back with a punch, you gonna get hit. One thing about all that, he ain't got the mind Floyd got."
World-renowned trainer Robert Garcia agreed that Khan will have a tough time against the reigning pound-for-pound king. In a Floyd Mayweather next fight interview, Garcia said that he'd rather see Manny Pacquiao colliding with Mayweather because the Filipino boxing icon has a better chance against Floyd Jr.
"I think Manny Pacquiao," Garcia said when asked who could hand Mayweather Jr. his first loss. "Manny Pacquiao is awkward, he's difficult. He's hard to catch, he's fast and he's got angles. I think Manny Pacquiao [is more difficult for Mayweather than Khan], I do."
