Floyd Mayweather Next Fight Predictions: Oscar De La Hoya Says Amir Khan Could Get A Shot At ‘Money’

| By

Floyd Mayweather next fight predictions indicated that the Oscar De La Hoya is convinced that the reigning pound-for-pound king will eventually decide to face Amir Khan in the near future.

Mayweather, who holds a perfect 47-0 fight record with 26 knockouts, recently said that he wants to fight twice in 2015 before calling it quits for good.

In an interview with USA Today, De La Hoya expressed confidence that Khan, who has been lobbying for a showdown against the unbeaten champion, will be one of the last two opponents of Mayweather.

"I believe it will happen," De La Hoya said of the Mayweather-Khan fight. "I've been talking to Amir. He wants the fight."

The Hall of Fame boxer said that he has talked to Khan about it and the Briton is confident that he has what it takes to hand Mayweather the first defeat of his career, citing his speed and style, which, he said, are tailor-made for Mayweather.

"He believes he has the style, the ability to surprise Mayweather," De La Hoya said in the Floyd Mayweather next fight predictions update. "Amir is a guy who is already an icon in the U.K. He throws a lot of fast combinations and he moves. He's quick, he has youth behind him, we feel it could be a very good fight. It's a matter of when and where."

Khan, who holds a 29-3 record with 19 knockouts, is coming off an impressive unanimous decision victory against Luis Collazo in May.

In a recent interview with Fighthype, Khan revealed that he is planning to fight one more time in December or early next year. And if he wins, the Bolton, England native also expressed confidence that his next fight after that will be against Mayweather.

"Whoever it is in December, I think it's still going to lead to a fight with Floyd because there's so much talk about it," Khan said in a Floyd Mayweather next fight predictions update. "Plus, I think Floyd needs somebody to get them [pay-per-view] numbers high. If you look at his last few fights, they've been quite low, apart from the Canelo fight."
