FIBA World Cup 2014 results & highlights update indicated that Serbia advanced to the final with a 90-85 win against France in their semifinal showdown on Friday in Madrid, Spain.
Serbia held off a late rally from France to earn the right to face Team USA in the final where they will be a heavy underdog against the star-studded American side.
Milos Teodosic was on target for Serbia as the sharp-shooting guard finished with 24 points on 9-for-12 shooting from the field, including an impressive 5-for-7 clip from beyond the arc, while also adding three rebounds, three assists, and one steal.
NBA draftee Bogdan Bogdanovic finished with 13 points and four assists, while veteran center Nenad Krstic, Miroslav Raduljica and Stefan Markovic added 11 points apiece with the latter adding five rebounds and two steals.
Krstic, who played seven seasons in the NBA, knows that they will have a long night against USA in the final, but the 31-year-old declared that they are not intimidated with the defending world champions.
"We're not going to be scared for sure," Krstic said in a FIBA World Cup 2014 results & highlights update on ESPN. "Now our confidence is high and OK, we have a chance, maybe some players never get this chance to play against U.S., great U.S. team in the final of the World Cup. It's an unbelievable chance to do something great in our lives."
Teodosic, who is shooting an impressive 68.2 percent from beyond the arc and is averaging 14.0 points to go along with 4.1 assists in the tournament, is also looking forward to their showdown against USA on Sunday.
"Every player when he was a kid was dreaming to play in a world championship final, and especially against (United) States," said Teodosic, who averaged 23.5 points and had eight three-three pointers over their last two games.
Nicolas Batum, on the other hand, led France with 35 points as the Portland Trail Blazers star almost singlehandedly brought the French side back in the game before Serbia held on to the win with crucial plays from Teodosic and Krstic down the stretch.
