FIBA World Cup 2014 results & highlights showed Team USA's dominance once again as the American routed Lithuania in their semifinal match, 96-68, on Thursday in Spain.

Team USA, the heavy favorite to win the gold medal in this year's tournament, had a slow start as they only managed to build an eight-point lead, 43-35, heading into the half.

However, the American turned the switch on in the third period as they outscored Lithuania, 33-14, to break the game wide open heading into the fourth period where they sustained the momentum en route to the blowout win.

Starting point guard Kyrie Irving led the American side with 18 points to go along with four assists and two steals according to a FIBA World Cup 2014 results and highlights update.

The Cleveland Cavaliers superstar admitted after the match the nerves got the best of them in the opening period, but they were able to recover in the second half with superb teamwork.

"Well, I don't know. Maybe it was nerves. Maybe we were making too many mistakes. Maybe we weren't playing well," Irving said after the match. "They kept coming at us. That run in the third quarter helped. I think it was a great team effort."

James Harden was also one of the main reasons why Team USA ran away with the victory as he finished with 16 points, all in the second half. Klay Thompson added 16 points as well, while Golden State Warriors teammate Stephen Curry posted 13 points and three rebounds.

With the win, Team USA advanced to the gold-medal match and are now one win away from becoming the third team to successfully defend their world title in the event.

"We have one more game to go. I hope we can do the same on Sunday as well. We are improving with every game. I really think that will be good enough in the Final,"

USA will face Serbia or France in the final where they will be a strong favorite, especially after Spain, the biggest threat to their title hope this year, crashed out in the semifinals.
