Chris Algieri said in a Manny Pacquiao next fight news that he will look to dominate "Pacman" in their upcoming showdown on November 22 at the Venetian Resort in Macau.
Algieri, who will look to claim the World Boxing Organization welterweight title, said that he will not let the judges decide his fate. But even if the fight goes to the scorecards, the challenger insisted that he will make sure that he'll get the win by dominating Pacquiao right from the opening bell.
"I plan on dominating the fight," Algieri said in the Manny Pacquiao next fight news on BoxingScene. "I don't want to leave anything in the judges' hands. I am going to dominate the fight from the beginning."
Algieri, the reigning WBO light welterweight champion, is coming off a close split decision win against Ruslan Provodnikov to become a world champion.
The 30-year-old knows that most people are already counting him out because Pacquiao is more famous than him. But like in the Provodnikov fight where he was considered as a heavy underdog, he will be ready to score an upset and silence his critics.
"People out there didn't know who I was or anything about me," Algieri said. "They didn't know who I am or what I bring to the table. This is how the sport works and we are ready for this. You get your chance and you win and then you keep winning and keep moving up."
Meanwhile, Pacquiao and Algieri agreed to undergo random drug testing that will be conducted by the Voluntary Anti-Doping Association (VADA).
According to a Manny Pacquiao next fight news on BoxingScene, the VADA random drug testing will be conducted during the training camp of both fighters and after their November 22 fight where they will be required to submit blood and urine samples.
VADA also tested Pacquiao during his previous fights against Brandon Rios in November last year and Timothy Bradley in April. The Filipino boxing icon came up clean, while the drug testing revealed that Rios took a banned stimulant for their fight, which led to his five-month suspension.
