Manny Pacquiao Next Fight News: Chris Algieri Likes Chance Against Pacquiao; Freddie Roach Vows To Silence Foe

| By

Chris Algieri said in a Manny Pacquiao next fight news that he is looking to score a convincing win against the Filipino boxing icon in their upcoming showdown on Nov. 22 at the Venetian Resort in Macau, China.

Algieri, who is coming off a split decision win against Ruslan Provodnikov, has only scored eight knockout wins in his professional career, but the unbeaten American said that he is not ruling out a knockout victory.

"I think in terms of boxing, you know it's purely unexpected and anything can happen, and you got two guys and if you can hit someone and hurt them and if you can hurt them you can stop them," Algieri said via BoxingScene.

And if a knockout doesn't come, the reigning World Boxing Organization light welterweight champion said that he is ready to go the distance and dominate Pacquiao for the entire fight.

"I don't go into this fight thinking that I have to win a decision or I have to outbox him or anything like that," Algieri said in the Manny Pacquiao next fight news. "If the knockout is there, the knockout is there. If it comes, it comes. If it doesn't, I'm looking to dominate either way."

Algieri knows that the landscape of world boxing will change should he win against Pacquiao. And if he successfully scores an upset against the former pound-for-pound king, the 30-year-old said that he will look to face Floyd Mayweather Jr. in his next fight.

"I mean of course, the landscape of the boxing world will change, if and when I beat Manny, so that's an option [to fight Mayweather]. But as always, we'll take it step by step and see what the best moves are gonna be and decide what the next move will be. For right now, I am 100% focused on November 22nd," Algieri said.

When asked to react on Algieri's recent statement, Freddie Roach, Pacquiao's trainer, said in another Manny Pacquiao next fight news on BoxingScene that the Huntington, New York native is just all talk.

"He's a good talker. He talks a lot, but all of the talking in the world is not going to help him win the fight," Roach said.
