Real Madrid transfer rumors update revealed that Manchester United boss Louis Van Gaal is interested in bringing Cristiano Ronaldo back to Old Trafford, while Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho denied interest in reuniting with the superstar.
Van Gaal, who is looking to lead Manchester United back on top of the Barclays Premier League, said in an interview that he is always looking to sign a superstar. Ronaldo is one of his targets, but he doesn't think Real Madrid will sell the superstar forward soon.
"It is possible," Van Gaal said of a possible reunion with Ronaldo in a Real Madrid transfer rumors update via ESPN FC. "That's what I have said with Radamel Falcao. Players like Ronaldo give a lot of extra to a team, but I don't think Real Madrid shall sell him."
Ronaldo played at Old Trafford from 2003 to 2009 where he became a crowd favorite before Manchester United dealt him to Real Madrid via a €94 million transfer deal in 2009.
Soccer analyst Guillem Balague recently said in an interview with Sports Mole that Ronaldo is indeed interested in finishing his career at Old Trafford, but the ball is on Real Madrid's hands.
"I am convinced that he wants to come. I know that he wants to come and how much Manchester United want him," Balague said. "But, there is a third party, which is Real Madrid and they have the power over the timing, which is as much as I can say."
Balague added that Ronaldo is happy at Real Madrid contrary to recent reports, but the Portugal international wants to experience enjoying the game like he used to when he was still at Manchester United.
Meanwhile, Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho denied that he is looking to lure Ronaldo, admitting that he had a rocky relationship with the 29-year-old during their three-year partnership at Real Madrid.
"There is no relationship," Mourinho said in a Real Madrid transfer rumors update on The Telegraph. "He plays for Real Madrid and I am Chelsea manager. We do not tend to meet in the street. There is no relationship, but there are memories. I remember the good times and the bad times."
