Cleveland Cavaliers superstar LeBron James announced the LeBron 12 release date in a special event at Nike's company headquarters in Beaverton, Oregon.
According to James, the new LeBron 12 features advanced technology, which makes it a lightweight sneaker with superb support and top-class cushioning that is tailor-made for his style of play.
"It was a priority for me to be able to have a shoe that allows me to be fast, not weigh me down," James said via Sports Illustrated. "The new technology is lightweight. It allows me to explode. When I land, it allows me to absorb the landings. It's great."
The four-time NBA Most Valuable Player also added that he has been testing out the shoe for several weeks to make sure that it is the kind of sneaker that he is looking for.
James' previous sneaker, the LeBron 11, drew media attention after the superstar was seen switching sneaker before confirming that there are issues about the signature shoe.
"If something isn't right, we're going to continue to go back to the lab to figure it out," James said in a LeBron 12 release date report. "I was able to wear the shoe some games, some games I wore the 'Soldier' shoe. The issues with the LeBron 11 hurt both of us. We loved the shoe so much, the 11, but it wasn't performing how we wanted."
One of the unique features of the newest signature sneaker is the five multi-colored hexagonal Nike Zoom Air bags on the outsole of the shoe, which provides accelerated explosiveness.
It also has a Megafuse upper part that makes it feels like a second skin, while also providing breathability and comfort along with a Dynamic Flywire for lockdown support.
James unveiled the first seven colorways of the LeBron 12, including the NSRL edition, which will be the first one to hit the market on Oct. 1 in China and Oct. 11 in other countries. The "Heart of a Lion" edition will also come out next month worldwide.
