Soccer Transfer Rumors: Cristiano Ronaldo Denies Interest In Leaving Real Madrid For Manchester United Return

| By

Cristiano Ronaldo reiterated in a soccer transfer rumors update that he is not planning to leave Real Madrid to make a return to Manchester United soon.

Manchester United fans have stepped up in their effort to convince Ronaldo to make a return to the Old Trafford with some of them flying a plane over a stadium where Real Madrid is playing. The plane carries a "Come Home Ronaldo" message.

Ronaldo admitted that he saw the plane and the message, but he is not too thrilled about it. He said that while he has a lot of good memories at Manchester United, he is very happy at Real Madrid at this point of his career.

"How could I not see that plane? It flew past 10 times," Ronaldo said in a soccer transfer rumors update via The Independent. "I always said that I have a family to Manchester but I'm good in Madrid. I'm glad of the affection that United fans have for me, it means that I have left good memories."

Ronaldo enjoyed the breakout years of his career with Manchester United where he played from 2003 to 2009 before then-world record 80 million-pound transfer move to Real Madrid.

Manchester United boss Louis Van Gaal, who was tasked to bring Manchester United back to its old place on top of the Barclays Premier League after a disastrous campaign last season, recently expressed interest in talking to Real Madrid for a possible Ronaldo transfer.

Van Gaal has shown willingness to spend to improve his team as proven by his lucrative deals to acquire Angel Di Maria and Radamel Falcao earlier in the season.

However, Ian Ladyman of Daily Mail Online reported in a soccer transfer rumors update that the Ronaldo-to-Manchester move is highly unlikely at this point, citing a source close to the situation, who said that it is close to impossible at this point.

"Ronaldo will always be loved here," said the Manchester United source. "But if you look at the numbers and his age than you have to ask if it really could be made to work. We are not at all sure it can."

Previous reports indicated that Manchester United will have to spend more than £140 million to re-acquire Ronaldo, who has already scored 10 goals in five Spanish La Liga games for Real Madrid this season.
