Wegmans has once again been recognized as the top workplace in the retail industry, earning the No.1 spot on Fortune's "Best Workplaces in Retail" list for the ninth consecutive year.
The announcement highlights Wegman's strong commitment to its employees, with 91% of its 53,784 workers describing is as an excellent place to work; as score above the industry average of 57%.

In addition, 96% of Wegmans employees felt welcomed upon joining the company and 94% noted that the company's flexible time-off policy, according to Buffalo News.
Colleen Wegman, President and CEO of Wegman Food Markets, emphasized the company's dedication to its employees.
"We believe the best way to serve our communities, is by taking care of our people. We are so proud to celebrate nine years of this honor together and thank our people and our customers for making it possible," she said in a statement, acknowledging the team's role in making the achievement possible.
Wegmans ranked ahead of other major retailers, such as Sheetz, Target, Trek Bicycle, and Publix Super Markets, according to Syracuse.
The list, compiled by Fortune and Great Place to Work, is based on feedback from over 1.3 million workers across various companies, with 123,000 responses coming from employees in the retail sector.
Wegmans Continues Helping Workers, Community
This year's survey also considered factors like employee satisfaction, customer service, and work-life balance. While Wegmans tops the list in retail, it also achieved recognition across other categories. In 2024, Wegmans ranked No. 6 on Fortune's "100 Best Companies to Work For," making its 27th consecutive appearance on the prestigious list.
Wegmans' focus on a positive work environment is evident in the company's consistent recognition. It has earned awards as a top employer for parents and women, further solidifying its reputation as a company that values diversity and employee well-being.
Wegmans Food Markets, Inc., founded in Rochester, New York, operates 111 stores along the East Coast. The family-owned grocery chain celebrated 100 years of service in 2016, and continues to be a leading force in the retail industry.
Recently, Wegmans has taken steps to care for its customers by offering flu vaccines at its in-store pharmacies. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommend that everyone six months and older get vaccinated by the end of October. Wegmans allows customers to either book appointments or walk in to receive their flu shots.
