The most recent episode of Arrow Season 3, called Draw Back Your Bow, is basically an episode dedicated to the fans of the Olicity, a ship built by fans for Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) and Felicity Smoak (Emily Bett Rickards). The two's love arc is currently not in good terms in the ongoing season as they made a choice to stay away from each other for safety. The Arrow's mission in the episode is to stop Amy Gumenick's Carrie Cutter (a.k.a. Cupid), an obsessed psycho fan of him. (Watch out: Arrow Season 3 spoiler ahead) Oliver was able to stop her and Olicity fans were assured that he would not end up on the arms of Cupid.
Meanwhile, Felicity is out for a dinner with Roy Palmer (Brandon Routh) who was added in Arrow Season 3 to give Oliver Queen a competition, not just as a Starling City businessman/hero(?) but also on Felicity's heart.
Although Carrie Cutter didn't end up with the Arrow, Gumenick thinks that her presence is instrumental in the storyline that the show is taking for Olicity. In an interview with Comic Book regarding her appearance in Arrow Season 3, she said that Oliver has learned more about himself after meeting Cupid.
"I will say I think that Cupid is actually very intstrumental in that storyline in that I think that Arrow learns a lot from Cupid about himself and sees a little bit of himself in her," she said.
"I think that they relate in that core, fundamental level of, they are two people fighting for a love that they can't have or that they won't allow themselves to have. I think that through Cupid's interaction with Arrow he becomes a little more solid and that whether it's internal or whether it's ever confessed, I think that he learns a lot more about himself and about love in general and about his feelings toward Felicity that he perhaps didn't see before."
In a separate interview with the Hollywood Reporter, the Supernatural TV series alum also said she's ready to return in Arrow Season 3 if given the chance.
"I would absolutely be up for it. I would be thrilled," Gumenick said.
"The episode is definitely left open-ended. There are many avenues they could take with Cupid. I'm excited to see which path they jump on. There is definitely potential there."
