The Duck Dynasty family has added another member. John Luke Robertson was celebrating his 19th birthday when he proposed to his girlfriend Mary Kate McEacharn. His girlfriend accepted and they are now engaged.
When E! News interviewed him, the following day, he mentioned his excitement in marrying his best friend and he also added that his parents married young and hopes to follow in their footsteps. John explained that even if his parents' married at a young age, they have been happily living together for more than 20 years now.
A flurry of Instagram and Tweets followed as soon as the couple got engaged. Mary Kate lost no time in posting an Instagram photo of herself and John. In the photo he is holding a sign that reads, "Future Mrs. Robertson" while she proudly shows of the engagement ring given to her by John.
The couple went to Quachita Christian School in Monroe, Louisiana. It was only in March this year that they started dating. In her Twitter account, Mary Kate wrote, "First dates are easy when you've been together for 4 months..."
John Luke's parents Willie and Korie Robertsons, tweeted their congratulations to the newly engaged couple. Willie twitted, "19 years ago I welcomed my first son @John316Luke923 into the world! Happy Birthday big boy. The worlds a better place with u in it." John's sister, Rebecca congratulated her brother and sister-in-law to be. She wrote in her Twitter post that she is excited to be her sister-in-law.
