Molly Maid Gives Back for National Domestic Violence Awareness Month

| By

Molly Maid, the largest residential cleaning company in the country will reportedly accomplish a big feat by the end of the month-raising over $2 million for increasing awareness against domestic violence.

Since 1996, Molly Maid had helped victims of domestic violence through its partner charitable organization Ms. Molly Foundation.

Molly Maid franchises congregate every October during the National Domestic Violence Awareness Month to help local domestic violence shelters and organizations all across the United States.

Over 75 percent of Molly Maid franchisees have regularly attended the event and donated part of their profits to the Ms. Molly Foundation.

The franchisees were also reported to have raised money to help 120 local domestic violence shelters in America.

"One in four women is affected by domestic violence and these women, sometimes with their children, are forced escape the situation and relocate without any of their belongings," according to Meg Roberts, president of Molly Maid.

"With our customers' continued generosity and system-wide support from franchise partners, we are thrilled we will exceed $2 million in support of a cause that is near and dear to our hearts," Roberts added.

Aside from that, Molly Maid also held its yearly Making a Difference Drive to raised funds and awareness for the increasing number of children affected by domestic violence.

For each $25 donation, Molly Maid gives a Gund Teddy Bear made by the Chelsea Teddy Bear Company as well as a tote bag to a child living in a shelter.

The Making a Difference Drive generated $330,000 in 2013, higher by 37 percent in 2012.

Molly Maid, which has always grabbed a spot in Entrepeneur Magazine's Franchise 500 listing, is a residential cleaning company established in 1979 while Ms. Molly maid Foundation began its advocacy against domestic violence in 1996.

Molly Maid has over 450 franchises all over the United States and 200 units in Canada, Japan, Puerto Rico, England and Portugal.
