Jersey Mike's Subs, famous for its fresh-sliced/fresh-grilled subs set up its newest shop at Plano,Texas last Sept. 24
Jersey Mike's Subs also celebrated its grand opening with a free sub fundraiser from Wed, Sept. 24 to Sunday, Sept. 28.
The restaurant's patrons can get a free regular sub sandwiches for a minimum c$1 contribution to the local sports organization, Plano Sports Authority.
Franchise owners Drew and Staci Suttton shared their story on how they opened Jersey Mike's Subs and their collaboration with Plano Sports Authority.
"I came across Jersey Mike's while living in Nashville," said Drew Sutton.
"There was a shop close to my church and every Sunday on my way home, I would grab a sub to eat while watching football. Needless to say, I was always impressed by the quality of the product and service I received. Down the road, when my wife, Staci, and I were considering starting a business, she had the idea to pursue the opportunity with Jersey Mike's."
Drew Sutton showed interest in sports since he is a former baseball player who played for 10 years. Sutton played in different major league teams like Cincinnati Reds and Pittsburgh Pirates.
"At Jersey Mike's, it's tradition to open each location with a community fundraiser. As a former athlete, I know firsthand the impact that sports can have on a child's future. For that reason, we teamed up with the Plano Sports Authority to help fund scholarships that make it possible for more children to participate in youth sports," Sutton added.
Since 2010, Jersey Mike's Subs has pledged to give back to the community. The restaurant has donated $10 million to different charities and has given out over 750,000 free sub sandwiches to aid in different causes.
The new Jersey Mikee's Subs is located at 7120 Coit Road and opens at 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. from Mon. to Sun.
