Chick-fil-A customers in Tallahassee are feeling sadness and disappointment as one of their favorite spots, the North Monroe location, has temporarily shut its doors. The closure has left many regulars in the community without their go-to spot for chicken sandwiches and waffle fries.

Chick-Fil-A North Monroe Temporarily Closes for Renovation

The Chick-fil-A franchise on North Monroe in Tallahassee will not just observe its usual Sunday closure. Tallahassee Democrat reported that the popular fast-food chain, celebrated for its iconic chicken sandwiches, is temporarily shutting down this location starting Thursday.

According to updates from the chain's North Monroe Instagram page, the restaurant will cease operations at 7 p.m. to start its extensive renovation, encompassing interior and exterior improvements. The anticipated reopening is slated for the fall season.

The Georgia-based chain purchased the neighboring longtime family-owned restaurant Lindy's Chicken's North Monroe Street location for $650,000 in 2022. They intend to rework the site and enhance drive-thru accessibility.

This upcoming Chick-fil-A establishment will become the second largest in Florida, following the largest one in Tampa. The Tallahassee Democrat has formally requested site plans from the City of Tallahassee for further details.

Despite their understanding, many customers expressed deep sadness over the closure. On Instagram, one expressed it as the end of an era." Another simply exclaimed their disappointment.

One regular customer fondly remarked that they believed, "My grandchildren and I'll greatly miss you."

However, the final day at the North Monroe Chick-fil-A was not without some joyous moments.

To commemorate the store's closing, employees distributed 200 "challenge cards."

These cards encourage patrons to visit the Campus Circle and West Tennessee Street Chick-fil-A locations, complete their punch cards, and receive a $10 gift card.

Topped with whipped cream and a cherry, it's available for a limited time from June 10 through August 24, 2024, or while supplies last. Please note that the whipped cream and cherry are unavailable for delivery orders.

According to The U.S. Sun, social media has been buzzing with excitement from fans of Chick-fil-A's latest treats.

One Facebook user expressed their love for the peach milkshake, calling it "the only reason I go to Chick-fil-A."

Another fan shared their enthusiasm, stating, "It is the best peach milkshake I have ever had. Phenomenal."

This new sandwich, featuring a lemon-herb marinated chicken breast, pepper jack cheese, green leaf lettuce, and bacon coated in a brown sugar and pepper blend, promises a unique flavor experience at Chick-fil-A.

According to the restaurant's news release, Allison Duncan, Chick-fil-A's director of menu and packaging, shared her enthusiasm for the new Maple Pepper Bacon Sandwich, emphasizing its role in expanding the restaurant's entrée selection.
