ALDI has announced adjusting its store hours nationwide for a single day next week. As Americans eagerly anticipate Fourth of July celebrations like barbeques, fireworks, and picnics, the festivities can disrupt traffic, events, and shopping routines.

Aldi Adjusts Store Hours for Independence Day

Most Aldi locations across the United States will close their doors early on Independence Day. Next Thursday, all 2,387 stores of the German grocery chain will close at 4 pm.

As The U.S. Sun reported, some Aldi stores, including the one in Altamonte Springs, Florida, will remain closed for July Fourth.

The store locator feature can check specific holiday hours for individual Aldi locations. Due to the federal holiday, many employees will have the day off next Thursday, prompting Americans to plan their grocery trips in advance.

ALDI stores observe closures on New Year's Day, Easter Sunday, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day. They also operate with reduced hours on Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Christmas Eve, and New Year's Eve, as posted on the store's website.

As the Fourth of July approaches, Americans look forward to barbeques, fireworks, and picnics. It's important to note that many employees will have the day off next Thursday for the federal holiday, so planning grocery trips ahead of time is advisable.

Retailers will have varying hours; some may be closed on Independence Day. Stop & Shop will maintain its regular hours this Fourth of July, typically from 7 am to 10 pm on weekdays, though specific locations may have different hours, like 6 am to 10 pm or 7 am to 11 pm.

The U.S. Sun reported that Meijer will also operate on Independence Day following its usual schedule, from 6 am to 12 am.

Trader Joe plans to open on July Fourth, but with adjusted hours. Most stores are expected to be open from 8 am to 5 pm, but shoppers should verify hours with their local store as they may vary.

However, shoppers who frequent Costco will find it closed on the Fourth of July. Costco also closes on six other federal holidays: New Year's Day, Easter Sunday, Memorial Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.

Meanwhile, The Village Reporter revealed that last week, Sam Fry, Hillsdale's marketing and economic development director, confirmed that ALDI plans to expand into Hillsdale in the coming years.

According to Fry, ALDI has submitted a site plan to the city's Planning Commission for review. The proposed location for the new store will be directly across from Hillsdale's recently opened Meijer store, which debuted this spring.

Fry noted that the chosen site is situated within city limits at the corner of Carleton Road and Moore Road. This eliminates the need for a 425 agreement with Fayette Township, unlike what was required to construct Meijer.

According to a news release on March 7, ALDI plans to increase its nationwide presence by adding 800 additional stores by the end of 2028. However, the specific locations for these new stores were not disclosed.

"We're actively seeking developers interested in investing in Hillsdale," said Fry, noting the city's recent developments. "There's a lot of momentum here with ongoing projects."
