Arby's, a fast-food franchise with over 3,000 outlets, unexpectedly closed its Joliet, Illinois, site.
There was no letter or sign explaining the reasons for the closure, so patrons of the eatery were left in the dark.
Arby's Mystery Closure Leaves Joliet Without Answers
Despite the sudden closure, fans and patrons of the restaurant were left without any official explanation or notice explaining why the popular fast-food outlet had shut down.
Local diners were quick to share their reactions to the unexpected closure of the Arby's on Route 59 in the comments section of a popular social media post.
According to The U.S. Sun, one local mentioned visiting the restaurant the day before, expressing surprise at the sudden shutdown. Another lamented the loss, remarking on their positive view of the restaurant, while a third wondered if a fire might have caused the closure.
Another commenter quickly clarified this, noting that the signs were methodically removed, even observing a crane taking down the large street sign.
On Monday, the signs and letters were removed from the Arby's restaurant on Route 59 in Joliet, Illinois. Plywood coverings were placed over the windows to keep the priceless kitchen appliances and furniture safe from damage. There was no longer a drive-thru menu.
Patch revealed that a resident, Diana, first shared the closure news on the Joliet Area Bar and Restaurant Guide, a Facebook group managed by Brian Bessler. Diana reported that the establishment was completely boarded up, with all signs of Arby's removed.
Despite the various speculations, one commenter suggested that the closure was due to poor performance. However, local customers need not worry excessively-the nearest Arby's is within a short drive, less than 10 miles from the now-closed establishment.
According to information from Arby's website, there are still a few options nearby. One is located at the Pilot Travel Center in Minooka on Ridge Road. Another is at 474 South Weber Road in Romeoville, and a third can be found at the Love's Travel Center off Interstate 55 and West Bluff Road in Channahon. These locations represent the remaining Arby's restaurants accessible to residents in the affected areas.

Pandemic Forces Closure of Iconic Arby's in Hollywood
The popular Arby's on Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood, Los Angeles, has closed. According to the 91-year-old business owner, Marilyn Leviton, the main reason for the closure was the pandemic's enduring repercussions, FOX 11 said.
This closure is part of a larger trend of closures within Arby's network, which runs more than 3,500 outlets across nine countries despite recent failures.
The closure of the Hollywood Arby's is part of a larger trend-which has gathered speed in recent months-of businesses leaving California. Remarkably, earlier in June, Rubio's Coastal Grill closed 48 of its locations in California, including two dozen in the Los Angeles area.
California's growing business costs, made worse by the recent increase in the minimum wage for fast-food employees from $15.50 to $20 per hour, are mostly to blame for these closures.
As a result, several well-known fast-food chains, such as In-N-Out, McDonald's, and Chipotle, have raised their pricing. Several companies have also cut back on employment to deal with rising costs.
The economic landscape in California continues to evolve, prompting significant adjustments within the fast-food sector.
