In recent news from Yahoo Finance, Dickey's Barbecue Pit is excited to expand its partnership with Sam's Club, bringing its Texas-style barbecue to even more locations.

Starting in April 2024, over 30 additional Sam's Club stores in Montana, Louisiana, New Mexico, and Central and South Texas will begin carrying Dickey's products.

Moreover, Sam's Club customers can purchase Dickey's world-renowned, original Polish smoked sausage ropes. These are available in a 36oz Club Pack, perfect for anyone wanting to showcase their grilling skills at home.

This expansion broadens Dickey's retail presence and allows more barbecue enthusiasts to enjoy their famous flavors.

Dickey's Barbecue Pit, founded in 1941 in Dallas, Texas, by WWI veteran Travis Dickey, epitomizes the American entrepreneurial spirit, as its website highlights.

Originally a modest operation, with Travis preparing the barbecue and his wife Ollie serving sandwiches, the restaurant has grown significantly from its humble beginnings.

The initial menu included basic offerings like beef brisket and pit hams, funded partly by renting out space on their sign.

In 1967, Travis's sons, Roland and T.D. Dickey took over and expanded the business within the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Their commitment to quality and tradition helped Dickey's become a staple in Texas, known for its hickory-smoked meats and popular catering services. The growth led to franchising in 1994, responding to customer demand for more locations.

Today, Dickey's operates over 650 locations across 44 states. Despite its expansion, the restaurant still honors its original cooking methods, such as slow-smoking meats on-site.

The menu now includes a broader array of meats and homestyle sides, but the core principles of quality and hospitality remain unchanged. Sundays continue to offer free meals for children and complimentary ice cream for all, maintaining a family-friendly atmosphere.

Leadership has remained within the family, with Roland Dickey, Jr. leading the brand's expansion and his wife, Laura Rea Dickey, as the current CEO, ensuring the legacy of Travis Dickey's vision continues at a national level.
