A shopper at Sam's Club said they might cancel their membership after the store refused a full refund.
Some customers believe Costco, a competing store, has a better return policy.
Frustrated Shopper to Leave Sam's Club
A shopper at Sam's Club shared their frustrations on Facebook after being denied a refund for their purchase. The customer had bought coffee pods that were supposed to have a $6 discount. However, they later discovered they were charged the full price when they checked their receipt.
The customer sent copies of the receipt to the customer service team to prove they didn't receive the discount initially. When they asked for a refund, they were given the $6 discount, but this left them still $6 short.
Instead of resolving the issue, the customer service team ended the chat, advising the shopper to check the receipt and the refund policy again. The shopper tried to reconnect with customer service but eventually gave up, feeling it wasn't worth the effort over $6.
The customer mentioned they had been a loyal Sam's Club shopper for years and spent significant money there. Disappointed by the experience, they decided to cancel their membership over the incident.
In their online post, the customer mentioned that they missed shopping at Costco but no longer lived near one.
According to The U.S. Sun, Sam's Club responded to the post expressing concern. "Thank you for bringing this to our attention. This is not the kind of experience we want to provide," they commented.
They encouraged the customer to contact them for further assistance. Following this interaction, Sam's Club confirmed that the customer received the additional $6 refund.
