CEO Nicholas Perkins stated that the misinformation came from an unreliable source and emphasized that the business is thriving.

Fuddruckers: Dispelling Rumors, Embracing Expansion

Fuddruckers, known for its DIY burger toppings bar, addressed closure rumors.

According to The U.S. Sun, CEO Nicholas Perkins, who assumed leadership in 2022, posted on Facebook refuting claims from an unreliable blog.

Assuring customers, Perkins stated that not all stores will close in 2024. He highlighted the brand's vitality and emphasized the ongoing operations of various franchises worldwide.

Furthermore, Perkins announced plans to welcome new franchises this year, expressing excitement for the brand's enduring legacy as a top burger destination.

Another news post by The U.S. Sun revealed that social media buzzed on May 23, 2024, with the phrase "Fuddruckers closing all locations." The uproar originated from a now-removed TikTok post asserting Fuddruckers' complete closure in 2024.

The video also claimed similar fates for chains like Pizza Hut and Applebee's. With over 50 locations spanning the US, Mexico, and Canada, Fuddruckers' purported shutdown garnered attention. However, it's important to note that while Fuddruckers isn't shuttering all outlets, it has indeed closed some in the past year.

Several users expressed concern about the rumored closure of Fuddruckers. One user said they needed to visit before any potential shutdown, while another stated they made an extravagant burger, fearing the worst.

Another user found the news surprising, especially compared to other closures like Red Lobster.

Yet another user urged saving Fuddruckers amid the speculation. Lastly, one user, overwhelmed by the news, expressed frustration and disbelief at the prospect of Fuddruckers closing.

As detailed on its official website, Fuddruckers, the beloved burger chain, has approximately 53 locations across the United States, Mexico, Puerto Rico, and Canada.

Contrary to rumors, Fuddruckers isn't shutting down every restaurant it operates. However, it has bid farewell to a few establishments over the past year.

In November, the Fuddruckers branch in Saugus, Massachusetts, situated just 10 miles north of Boston, ceased operations, as reported by Fox affiliate WFXT. This closure came after serving the community for 35 years, as the location couldn't reach a lease agreement with its landlord, leaving many loyal patrons disheartened by its departure.

Similarly, in December 2023, another Fuddruckers location, this time in Waco, Texas, approximately 94 miles south of Dallas, closed its doors, according to CBS affiliate KWTX.

Adding to the list of closures, a Fuddruckers outlet in North Texas, located roughly 300 miles from Dallas in Lubbock, also shut down in December of the same year, per the Lubbock Avalanche Journal's report.

While these closures have saddened customers in these areas, it's essential to note that Fuddruckers continues to operate numerous other locations, reassuring fans that not every Fuddruckers door is closing for good.

Moreover, Perkins holds the positions of CEO and president at both Fuddruckers and Perkins Management Services.

Originally from North Carolina, Perkins also serves as a professor at Howard University.

In 2021, Perkins took ownership of Fuddruckers when Black Titan Franchise Systems LLC, an affiliate of his, acquired the franchise.
