Bob's Stores, a well-liked clothing and shoe shop, is holding big sales online and in its stores while closing five less successful locations.

Bob's Stores explained that tough economic times led to the closures.

Retailer Shuts Down Stores Across Four States

A well-known apparel and footwear retailer is closing stores in four states and offering sales with discounts starting at 20%.

In New Jersey, stores in Freehold and Springfield are set to shut down. Connecticut's Southington location is also closing, while New Hampshire will see a closure in Manchester. New York's East Albany store is on the list as well.

According to a lawsuit filed by the landlord, the Connecticut store faces eviction due to unpaid fees.

In a statement, the company shared that they are trying to transfer as many employees as possible to nearby Bob's and Eastern Mountain Sports stores. Eastern Mountain Sports is a sister store selling outdoor clothing and gear.

Though difficult, the company emphasized that these closures are essential for the business's future. They expressed gratitude for their employees' dedication and assured customers they would continue providing the same quality service and products for years.

The U.S. Sun revealed that one of the Bob's Stores shoppers visited Facebook to share information about the ongoing closing sales. She urged fellow shoppers to act quickly, noting that the liquidation sale starts immediately.

She highlighted that customers can get an extra 10% off clearance items and 20% off their entire purchase without exclusions. Brands on sale include famous names like Nike and Adidas and official gear for teams like the Yankees and the Giants.

The sales are also available online, where customers can enjoy discounts ranging from 30% to 50% off as part of a "total inventory blowout." Due to the nature of the discount, all sales are final.

Despite the appealing discounts, customers expressed disappointment about the store closures. One shopper mentioned that Bob's Stores Footwear & Apparel is closing this Sunday, urging people to use their gift cards and rewards quickly.

Another customer from Southington expressed sadness, noting the lack of other places in town to buy sneakers.

According to Bob's Stores' website, the company has long been known for offering great deals on footwear, workwear, teamwear, and everyday clothing for families.

Founded in 1954 in Middletown, CT, the retailer has expanded to 27 locations throughout the Northeast, driven by founder Bob Lapidus's guiding principle: "Treat all customers with respect and dignity, and they will return again and again." This commitment to customer satisfaction is matched only by the vast array of famous brands and products.

Each Bob's Stores location offers an average of 20,000 pairs of shoes, featuring brands like Under Armour, Nike, Carhartt, Levi's, Lee, Timberland, Reebok, New Balance, Champion, and Adidas. It is also a go-to destination for rugged workwear from Carhartt, Dickies, and TimberlandPro. Sports enthusiasts can find a vast selection of hats, shirts, jackets, and novelty items adorned with the logos and colors of their favorite teams.
