New LEGO 'Wicked' Sets Announced
The LEGO Group and Universal Products & Experiences are launching four new LEGO sets featuring mini-dolls inspired by the upcoming "Wicked" movie. These sets will be available starting October 1, 2024.
The popular musical "Wicked" is being adapted into a two-part film event. The first movie will hit theaters on November 27, 2024, and the second part will come in Fall 2025. LEGO's new sets will be based on the first film, allowing fans to explore iconic scenes, themes, characters, and songs from the story of Oz.
"Wicked" tells the untold story of the witches of Oz and stars Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba, a robust social outcast, and Ariana Grande as Glinda, a privileged young woman. Fans eagerly await the release of these sets, excited to bring the magic of "Wicked" into their homes.
"The story of 'Wicked' offers a fantastic experience for families. Being part of the team creating LEGO sets inspired by the upcoming movie and bringing that world to life is extremely exciting," says Raquel Ojeda Gregorio, LEGO Wicked Design Lead at the LEGO Group.

Another commented, "This is just the beginning of my collection." A third added, "I huge sets are coming," while someone else asked if LEGO would make "a set that defies gravity?" referring to a popular song from the Broadway musical.
Based on Gregory Maguire's bestselling novel, the "Wicked" movie was adapted for the screen by Winnie Holzman, the writer of the stage production's book, and legendary Academy Award-winning composer and lyricist Stephen Schwartz.
Universal Stage Productions, Marc Platt, the Araca Group, Jon B. Platt, and David Stone produced the Broadway musical.
The upcoming LEGO sets, inspired by this beloved story, are eagerly anticipated by fans.
