The Packard location is set to shut its doors on May 11. Following that, all events usually held at Packard will move to the Huron Street site until it closes.
The exact closing date for the Huron Street store has not been set, but the owners expect it to be sometime between mid-July and late August, as per Fox 2.
Evenstar's Chalice Closure: Multiple Issues
According to owners Mara Evenstar and Russ Jones, Evenstar's Chalice in downtown Ypsilanti is closing due to multiple issues.
In a statement about the store's closure, they explained the financial challenges they faced. "We can't afford to keep running the store the way and where we are now. We're proud that we managed to serve our community this long," they said. They also noted, "We're not disappearing completely. Just our physical store."
Even after the physical store closes, Evenstar's Chalice will continue to sell products online. The owners are also considering holding sales at pop-up events.
While they have no plans to open another physical store, they haven't completely ruled out the idea for the future.
On its website, Evenstar's Chalice stated that it was established in downtown Ypsilanti in 2017 and aims to foster personal growth and beauty through a deep, sacred experience.
Originally envisioned as a retreat, it evolved into a metaphysical store due to unexpected opportunities. Co-founded by Mara Evenstar, Russ Jones, and Jeanne Adwani, this inviting space is designed to honor the feminine principle and encourage exploration and connection.
During the 2020 pandemic, they expanded online with the Evenstar Institute, broadening their reach. The store's roots trace back to Evenstar's earlier consulting enterprise, reflecting a commitment to transformative, meaningful ventures.
