Bellcrest Plaza, situated on Fischer Blvd in Toms River, is getting bigger, and a new 17,000-square-foot discount grocery store is being added.

The shopping center already has several shops and eateries, such as Dollar Tree, Tardi's Italian Restaurant, Margo's International Cuisine, and Chicken Town, which musician Eddie Testa owns. There's also a medical office in the RWJ Barnabas space.

This new grocery store aims to provide residents with more convenient shopping options.

New Grocery Store by Grocery Outlet

Grocery Outlet, a well-known discount retailer in America, will manage the new store at Bellcrest Plaza. This company is famous for offering products at deep discounts, including overstocked and closeout items from well-known brands and private labels.

Grocery Outlet operates in several states, such as California, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Nevada, Maryland, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Ohio, and Delaware.

Unlike Grocery Outlet, most local married couples own most of their stores. This allows each store to customize its inventory according to the tastes and needs of its community.

Grocery Outlet Bargain Market was founded by James Read on June 11, 1946, in San Francisco, California. The company started by purchasing surplus food products from the government and selling them in vacant stores across San Francisco.

Grocery Outlet operates several stores in New Jersey, with a nearby location on Route 35 in Hazlet. This Hazlet store offers a shopping experience similar to Lidl, featuring a wide range of unique and international products and items not typically found in traditional grocery stores like Shoprite.

The store is known for its selection of grass-fed butter, organic items, and discounts on various products.

Grocery Outlet in Hazlet also provides diverse fresh produce, including organic options, meats, poultry, and cheeses. Shoppers with dietary restrictions can find vegan, keto, sugar-free, and gluten-free products. The store maintains high standards of cleanliness, and the staff is known for their friendly service.

It also offers a broad selection of affordable snacks for children. The Grocery Outlet shopping experience is designed for thorough shoppers who value checking expiration dates, ingredients, and prices.

Furthermore, the local community is anticipating opening a new Grocery Outlet store in Bell Crest Plaza, which is undergoing revitalization under new ownership. This development is also expected to welcome "Supreme Courts," a pickleball facility, in the former Super Foodtown location, which has been vacant since 2010.

We will provide details about the opening dates for the new businesses at Bell Crest Plaza as soon as we have them.

Bellcrest Plaza in Toms River is set for a significant renovation to enhance its role as a key shopping destination. Represented by Shane Wierks of Jeffery Realty, the plaza recently secured new tenants, securing its long-term viability.

Acquired by Horizon Equities in 2023 as part of the Ocean County Middle Market Portfolio, the plaza will undergo a "major refresh." Upgrades will include new lighting, renovations, updated signage with a new pylon sign, and a repaved parking lot. This renovation aims to rejuvenate the facility, which had started to look "tired," according to Horizon Equities' Kotler.
