Popeyes Unveils New Golden BBQ Chicken Sandwich
According to Restaurant Business, Popeyes is set to launch its new Golden BBQ Chicken Sandwich this Tuesday, targeting the lunch crowd.
This latest variation of the famous chicken sandwich includes Popeyes' traditional buttermilk-battered chicken breast. It's topped with a tangy new Golden BBQ sauce and crisp barrel-cured pickles, all sandwiched between a toasted brioche bun.
For those who want a little extra, there's an option to add a slice of Havarti cheese and applewood smoked bacon.
Chef Amy Alarcon, Vice President of Culinary Innovation at Popeyes, is excited about the newest addition to their menu. "We aim to make lunchtime something to look forward to," said Alarcon.
"Our Golden BBQ Chicken Sandwich combines sweet and tangy flavors to brighten your midday meal. We want to bring joy, excitement, and a burst of flavor whether you're at the table or desk."
Popeyes is running a special promotion to encourage customers to try the new sandwich until June 30. Rewards members who spend a minimum of $10 at any participating location across the United States will receive 600 bonus points.

These points can be redeemed for a free chicken sandwich. In a unique marketing twist, Popeyes has collaborated with New Orleans hip-hop duo SaxKixAve to release a new song, "Bring Back Lunch," promoting the new menu item.
The Golden BBQ Chicken Sandwich is just one of several new items Popeyes has introduced recently. In March, the chain added Honey Lemon Pepper chicken wings to its menu, boasting tangy lemon and black pepper flavors with a hint of honey sweetness.
These 1,304-calorie wings and other popular flavors like Honey BBQ, Roasted Garlic Parmesan, Signature Hot, Ghost Pepper, and Sweet 'N Spicy are still available.
Popeyes' New Sandwich Sparks Online Buzz
Popeyes' latest menu addition, the Golden BBQ Chicken Sandwich, has been generating mixed reactions on social media from customers who've tried it.
Food vlogger "Peep This Out" praised the sandwich on Facebook, commenting, "It's got a sauce that may remind you of something very familiar!" However, not all feedback was as optimistic. A
Reddit user felt less impressed, stating, "It's the same sandwich with BBQ sauce, nothing special even if the original sandwich is pretty good." Another echoed this sentiment, noting, "It's all the sauce that does it."
Popeyes isn't the only fast-food chain introducing new items to its menu, suggesting a trend of continual innovation in the industry.
In addition to the new sandwich, Popeyes is kicking off a "Lunch Money FUNds" promotion. This new initiative will add lunch money to customers' rewards accounts, allowing them to enjoy a free chicken sandwich and add a bit extra "FUN" to their lunchtime.
To spice up lunchtime, the Miami, Florida-based fast-food chain Popeyes collaborated with SaxKixAve, a New Orleans hip-hop duo, to create a "Bring Back Lunch" anthem.
The duo, featuring rapper Alfred Banks and saxophonist Albert Allenback, has Louisiana roots like Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen.
Their catchy anthem is making waves on TikTok. It aims to banish "sad lunch" experiences and promotes Popeyes' free sandwich deal, adding a musical flair to the lunch hour.
