An unhappy customer has accused Wendy's of scamming them. They shared their story on social media, saying that a manager at the fast food restaurant confessed to the scam during their last visit.
Wendy's Customer Feels Cheated Over Drink Size
A disappointed customer shared their frustration online after a visit to Wendy's, where they felt misled into buying a larger drink than they wanted. According to their social media post, while ordering a small drink, the staff persuaded them to go for a bigger size.
During the interaction, the employee reportedly revealed that the staff is encouraged to sell larger drink sizes. The manager explained, "The regular is medium, the $7 is for small, and corporate asks us to try to upsell."
The customer complained that they were not initially offered the small size with their meal, leading them to believe they were tricked into paying more for a drink size they didn't need.
"Seemingly caught off guard, the customer remarked, 'Well buddy, you didn't give me the small option, so I assumed it's priced as 'regular,'' in their social media post.
Drawing attention to what they deemed a "blatant upsell scam," they cautioned others to beware.
Despite the outcry, Wendy's has remained silent on the matter, refraining from addressing the issue raised by the disgruntled patron.
Questions linger regarding the nature of the customer's order, particularly whether it was a meal combo, typically offered in small, medium, or large sizes.
In Wendy's protocol, when customers request "small," they typically receive a more economical meal consisting of a small fry and drink.
Seeking clarity, The U.S. Sun has contacted Wendy's for an official statement regarding the customer's allegations of an upsell scam.

Wendy's Customer Upset Over Coupon Issue

Venting their frustration on X (formerly Twitter), the customer recounts a disappointing experience at their local drive-thru, where they attempted to use a coupon earned from the app.
Despite their efforts, the coupon failed to apply to their order, and Wendy's staff reportedly refused to honor it. The customer expressed their frustration directly to Wendy's, stating, "@Wendys, I tried to use a coupon on your app today at a Wendy's drive-thru, and it didn't work. The manager told me there was no way he could help, and I would have to pay full price."
Feeling irked and let down by the ordeal, the customer decided to cancel their order and opt for Chick-fil-A, a competitor's offering across the street.
"Their app works," the frustrated customer vented, revealing their decision to cancel the order and head to Chick-fil-A instead.
Responding swiftly to the customer's post on X, Wendy's urged them to reach out directly to address the issue.
"Hey there, please send us a direct message with the email linked to your account and specify the offer you were attempting to redeem," the official Wendy's account replied. "Thanks!"
