Little Country Store Prepares for a Bustling Spring Opening in Frankford

| By

This week, Lynne Little and Jody Lentz, owners of the Little Country Store, are hard at work getting everything ready for their big opening on Friday, April 5.

The shop, which is on Armory Road close to Frankford, plans to open its doors to customers every first weekend of the month until December.

From Passion to Business: A Unique Partnership

Two women, originally from Pennsylvania, unexpectedly crossed paths. Little ran a State Farm Insurance agency in York, where Lentz was a client. Their relationship turned from professional to personal when they discovered a mutual love for home décor.

Little, an avid antique collector, and Lentz, a talented designer, saw an opportunity to turn their passion into a thriving business.

The duo views their business as selling objects and preserving history. "We look at our roles as caretakers of objects," Little explained. They aim to curate and share items they believe merit recognition and appreciation.

Little shared a moment that underscored her commitment to their venture. "I just couldn't stand driving by an auction and seeing someone's entire life out on the lawn," she reflected. This sense of responsibility towards preserving the stories and histories of others has been a driving force in their business.

At 64, her family's legacy influenced Little's journey to becoming an antiques dealer. Despite studying medical geography at Temple University, she always knew her true calling was in antiques. "It's what I always wanted to do," Little affirmed.

She proudly stated, "I'm a fourth-generation antique dealer, and Jody's second-generation," highlighting both partners' deep roots in the world of antiques and design.

For the last two years, Little and Lentz have expanded their sales by setting up a booth at The Brush Factory on Kings in Lewes, complementing their Little Country Store in Frankford. The Brush Factory offers fine antiques and upscale items, differing from their store's "modern farmhouse" style.

Little anticipates a crowd eager for their store's reopening on April 5, enjoying the communal excitement it brings. Originally not in the market for property, Little was charmed by the shop's potential, leading to its establishment at 30688 Armory Road, open monthly through December.
