Chipotle fans celebrate because a favorite food item has returned for a while.
The return is due to customers who asked the restaurant on social media to bring back Chicken al Pastor.
Fans' Favorite Dish Makes a Comeback
Chipotle has announced that the craving for a specific menu item was beyond anything they've seen before, as revealed in a press release.
On platforms like X and Instagram, the calls to bring back this dish were triple those for other limited-time foods.
A post by someone who seems to work at Chipotle, taken from behind the counter, has caught everyone's attention. It displays Chicken al Pastor on the store's computer menu alongside the exciting news: "BREAKING: Chipotle's Chicken al Pastor is coming back."
"One person said, "Their best flavor, no question." Another person was happy, saying, "This is really good news."
The well-liked Chicken al Pastor got three times more people asking for it to come back on social media than any other special menu item, said the restaurant chain from Newport Beach, California.
It first appeared on menus in the U.S., U.K., Canada, France, and Germany last March and quickly gained many fans.
The Chief Brand Officer, Chris Brandt, stated, "Last year, when we had Chicken al Pastor on our menu, about 20% of our sales were just for that item. Seeing how well it did and how eagerly our fans wanted it back, we're excited to say it's the quickest we've ever brought an item back to Chipotle."

Chicken al Pastor Bowl: A Flavorful Return
Nevielle Panthaky from Chipotle shared, "Our Chicken al Pastor's rich taste truly stands out in the fan-favorite bowl. Every ingredient combines to create the perfect balance of sweet, sour, and spicy flavors. It's simple, packed with flavor, incredibly tasty, and has everything you want."
The 'Most Ordered Chicken al Pastor Bowl' can now be easily ordered with just one click through the Chipotle app, Chipotle.com, and Chipotle.ca.
This favored recipe features chicken fresh off the grill, soaked in a spicy mix of charred morita peppers and crushed achiote. It's given a sweet touch with a bit of pineapple, then wrapped up with a squeeze of lime and a sprinkle of fresh cilantro
To mark the return of this beloved dish, Chipotle is offering a special promotion: no delivery fee on all Chicken al Pastor orders made through the Chipotle app, Chipotle.com, and Chipotle.ca from March 14 to March 24 in the US and Canada.
It's important to note that menu prices tend to be higher for delivery orders.
Chipotle had a profitable 2023. In January, the company reported significantly outperforming market expectations for profits and sales, a boost attributed to price increases implemented in October of the previous year.
This situation resulted in a notable advantage: not only did Chipotle sell more burritos, but it also sold each at a higher price. In certain instances, the price increase was as much as a dollar, elevating the cost of a burrito to $12.
While many restaurant and fast-food chains in the US have observed a decline in customer numbers and expenditure in recent months, Chipotle has successfully defied this trend.
