Sam’s Club Closure Shocker: All Stores to Shut Down for a Full Day, A First Outside Holiday Schedule

| By

Sam's Club customers are being told to get ready for the store to close for one whole day.

People who shop there might need to change how they usually buy things because every store across the country will soon be closed for a day.

Sam's Club Closure on Easter Sunday Announced

Sam's Club has announced that it will close for all shoppers and staff on March 31 in observance of Easter Sunday.

Customers who must make last-minute Easter purchases, such as food, flowers, or candy, must make arrangements in advance.

According to the company's website, Sam's Club traditionally closes its doors to the public on only four days each year: Easter Sunday, Christmas Day, Thanksgiving, and New Year's Day.

Sam's Club stores will be open as usual on the day before and after Easter Sunday.

As of March 2025, this popular warehouse chain had 600 stores across the United States, ensuring customers can complete their shopping needs around the holiday.

However, those considering shopping at other places on Easter Sunday might find their options limited. According to a report by The U.S. Sun, Costco, another big membership warehouse store, will also be closed for the holiday.

The company's website states that Costco closes only seven days yearly, including Easter Sunday. Costco Warehouses will maintain its regular opening hours on the day before Easter, ensuring customers can shop without any changes to the schedule.

The closure on Easter Sunday means Costco employees will get a day off to spend time with family and friends.

Customers planning their shopping should remember that Costco warehouses will keep their usual hours on the Saturday before Easter and will open as usual on Easter Monday.

Like Sam's Club, Costco is only closed on a few special days throughout the year.

In addition to Easter, Costco also observes Labor Day, Independence Day, and Memorial Day by closing its doors.

Sam's Club Membership and Holiday Hours Insight

Sam's Club operates as a membership-only store, requiring individuals to purchase a plan to shop there. A report by The U.S. Sun highlighted the insights of a former employee who gave her opinion on the store's membership options. She suggested that one of the membership plans might not meet its expectations.

Sam's Club has shared its holiday schedule on its website, revealing when stores will be open during special occasions. The retailer will be closed on major holidays like New Year's Day, Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas, giving employees time to celebrate.

Sam's Club offers adjusted hours for holidays such as Memorial Day, Fourth of July, and Labor Day. Plus, members can shop from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., while Club members have access from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. This schedule provides a balance, allowing customers to shop for necessities while respecting the holiday spirit.

In addition, a notable event is the closure of several retail chains for Easter Sunday, impacting both customers and staff. In the coming weeks, stores such as Sam's Club, Costco, Target, Aldi, and H-E-B will shut their doors in observance of the holiday.

This move is part of a broader trend among retail outlets to close on certain holidays, allowing employees to spend time with family and friends.
