| By

Delafield is gearing up to welcome its first mass timber building, which will also host the inaugural Wisconsin outpost of Voodoo Brewing Co. Founded in 2005 in Pennsylvania, Voodoo Brewing Co. is expanding its footprint to this new location, marking a significant addition to the local community.

Voodoo Brewing Co. Joins The Grain Hub

Voodoo Brewing Co. will be located in the east building of The Grain, a multifaceted development at 705 Genessee St. This $25 million project encompasses office spaces, parking, and retail outlets, creating a vibrant hub for the community.

Among the confirmed tenants are Brunch Delafield, Midwest Insurance Group, NONA Nutrition, RBC Wealth Management, Synthetaic, and Velvet & Tulle Boutique, each bringing a unique offering to the development.

With the introduction of this mass timber structure and the arrival of Voodoo Brewing Co., Delafield is set to experience a blend of sustainable architecture and craft beer culture, enriching the city's landscape and offerings.

According to a press release, Voodoo Brewing Co. is set to provide a cozy mix of seating both inside and outside for its guests. The establishment promises a tempting menu of gourmet pub food, including its standout burgers, handcrafted pizzas, delicious chicken wings, and special weekend brunch items.

"The Grain boasts a resilient, adaptable structure. Offering a blend of office, retail, and dining spaces, along with 125 combined surface and underground parking stalls, The Grain promises a vibrant hub of activity," the release said.

According to the Hendricks Commercial Properties website, construction of The Grain was estimated to create nearly 300 jobs, and another 625 jobs will be supported once the project is completed. This contributes an additional $320,000 in property taxes each year to Delafield.

The Grain's Construction and Tenant Lineup

In 2022, Corporate Contractors Inc., based in Beloit, began construction on The Grain, with design services provided by the Oconomowoc-based architecture firm Johnson Design.

Voodoo Brewing Co., a company owned by its employees and known for its brewpubs across the U.S., is set to open its doors with six other tenants in 2024. A different construction company will oversee the custom interior work for these tenants.

As confirmed by the property's management team, this brewery plans to launch a pub-style eatery featuring both indoor and outdoor seating within the east building of The Grain.

Throughout 2023, several businesses, including Brunch Delafield, Midwest Insurance Group, NONA Nutrition, RBC Wealth Management, Synthetaic, and Velvet & Tulle Boutique, have committed to becoming tenants at The Grain.

The Grain is constructed using mass timber, a method that uses solid wood panels and beams to create sturdy and flexible buildings. The project includes 125 parking spaces, combining both surface and underground options.

Founded 2005 in Meadville, Pennsylvania, Voodoo Brewing Co. opened its first taproom in 2012. Since then, the company has expanded, opening additional taprooms and a production facility, reaching into states like Nevada, Ohio, and South Carolina.

In early 2017, Voodoo inaugurated its Production Facility, significantly increasing its production capacity.

Diane Hendricks, a billionaire businesswoman from Wisconsin, owns Hendricks Commercial Properties, the management firm behind The Grain. This company manages over a dozen projects across Wisconsin, Indiana, Idaho, and Florida.
