The Body Shop has faced money problems and closed several stores, but this hasn't kept people from buying their favorite items.

News has come out that The Body Shop intends to shut down about 100 of its stores, and seven of them are already closed.

Amazon Stocks Body Shop Favorites Online

Despite being taken over just six weeks before Christmas, The Body Shop has found it hard to make money.

The main problem has been a shortage of funds to keep the stores running.

However, there's a silver lining for The Body Shop enthusiasts. Online marketplaces like Amazon still offer a wide selection of The Body Shop's popular items.

Shoppers can effortlessly search for and buy their preferred Body Shop products through the online retailer.

Whether it's calming face serums or energizing body scrubs, Amazon's range has plenty of options for those looking to indulge.

For now, as The Body Shop plans to shut down 100 of its physical locations, its online presence on platforms like Amazon will continue.

These products, known for their ethical sourcing and high quality, remain available on Amazon.

As The Body Shop progresses with its store closure plans, the online route provides a steady alternative for about 100 stores facing closure.

Many shoppers are upset after learning that The Body Shop has closed all its US operations. Reports also suggest that the company will close many of its stores in Canada as it goes through bankruptcy.

The famous cosmetics company from the UK said that its US branch stopped working on March 1. CNN mentioned that out of 105 stores in Canada, 33 will start selling off their stock immediately, although they will stay open for a bit longer.

The Body Shop's Struggle from 1976 to Bankruptcy

The Body Shop, founded in 1976 by Anita Roddick in the United Kingdom and sold multiple times since is battling to stay afloat.

Fans' worry spiked after the brand closed half of its UK stores. This concern grew with a bankruptcy filing in Canada and the sudden shutdown of all US stores on March 4.

The company's Canadian branch announced it was undergoing restructuring by filing a Notice of Intention to Make a Proposal under Canada's Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act. Meanwhile, Chain Store Age reported that The Body Shop US Limited stopped all operations on March 1, 2024.

The Body Shop's US website initially claimed it was "undergoing planned maintenance" and would return online soon. However, this message remained unchanged even as further developments revealed the situation was much more severe than maintenance.

The reality came to light when The Body Shop filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy in the US, leading to the cessation of trading at its 50 outlets. This filing, reported on Saturday, March 9, aims to liquidate assets to pay off debts, endangering around 400 jobs, including those at a distribution center filled with millions in inventory, as per The Guardian.

Despite the grim situation in the US, The Body Shop's fans hoped for a possible rescue. Unfortunately, the filing for Chapter 7 bankruptcy dashed these hopes. Now, The Body Shop's future is uncertain, with about half of its UK stores and Australian outlets remaining open.
