B2 Outlet Stores Closes 16 Locations Nationwide

B2 Outlet Stores, known for selling discounted products, including children's clothing, toys, and furniture, have faced significant closures.

Since November 7, as reported by NBC's WOOD-TV, 16 of their stores across the country have shut down. Earlier this week, executives confirmed the closing of the Hastings, Michigan, store, adding to the growing list of their shuttered locations.

B2 Outlet Stores, facing a tough retail market, have seen a sharp drop in sales. The company shared on the Facebook page for their Hastings location, echoing similar messages from other closing stores, that the retail challenges have affected almost every retailer, including themselves.

Despite efforts to increase customer visits, they haven't managed to turn their fortunes around.

In 2023, we've seen 23 businesses in West Michigan close their doors, including some B2 stores. B2 stated that while it's hard to close stores, they've had to make the tough call to shut down a few. This move aims to help the company concentrate on the still open stores.

The company's website lists its locations and is currently not functioning properly. In the past two months, B2 Outlet Stores has shut several stores in West Michigan, including those in Muskegon, Kentwood, Battle Creek, Plainfield Township, and Kalamazoo.

In Ohio, the Toledo store closed on January 11, three months after its grand opening on October 12, 2023. The Wyoming, Hudsonville, and Holland stores seem to be operating, but attempts to contact them have been unsuccessful.

The Hudsonville store's phone line, which announced a major sale on February 2, has been disconnected, as have the Wyoming and corporate office lines. Calls to the Holland store went unanswered on Tuesday.

The current status of other locations remains uncertain. The company's website claims to have 22 stores.

B2 Outlet Stores, originally named 'Benefit Twice Outlet Stores,' was founded ten years ago in Hudsonville by Duane Smith and his son, Matt Smith. The business sells liquidated stock and donates a portion of its proceeds to charitable organizations.

The company thanked them for being a part of their mission to 'be a blessing' in the Big Rapids community. B2 is hopeful to welcome these customers at other nearby stores soon.

Meanwhile, As B2 Outlet Stores prepare to shut down several locations, they have drastically reduced prices to clear out the remaining inventory. Children's clothing prices dropped to only $2 in a last-minute sale just days before these stores closed.

This news comes after the closure of the Big Rapids store and others in Canton, Rochester Hills, Kalamazoo, Lansing, and Muskegon.

The retailer's website highlights that the chain offers more than low prices. Customers can find discounts of up to 80% on toys and Christmas decorations and 50% on shoes and furniture.
