Knott's Berry Farm has declared it will remain closed this coming Monday. The popular theme park announced the decision in response to an approaching storm.
The announcement came via their X account, previously known as Twitter, indicating that the closure is a precaution against the expected bad weather.
Knott's Berry Farm Area Braces for Heavy Storm
ABC News reported a concerning weather update. Vulnerable communities near Knott's Berry Farm and across the Southland are preparing for possible evacuation due to a storm expected to hit the area overnight.
Originating from the north late Sunday, the storm is forecasted to bring its most intense rainfall just before Monday's morning commute.
Meteorologists predict at least an inch of rain, possibly thunderstorms hitting some inland areas. Additionally, mountain regions could experience up to a foot of snow at elevations above 7,500 feet.
NBC recently reported the issuance of flood advisories on Monday morning for certain areas in Orange, Riverside, and San Bernardino counties. These advisories warn of potential flooding in low-lying regions and water accumulation on roads. They are expected to remain in place until around 9 a.m.
Additionally, a separate wind advisory is active in parts of Los Angeles County until 2 p.m. Monday. Residents should prepare for south to southwest winds ranging from 20 to 25 mph, with gusts between 40 and 55 mph. The strongest winds are anticipated in the mountain areas and the foothills of Antelope Valley.
Knott's Berry Farm isn't the only theme park impacted by the recent rainfall. Six Flags Magic Mountain, located in Santa Clarita, also announced on Friday that it will be closed over the weekend and extending into Monday. This decision is a direct response to the ongoing precipitation in the area.

Extended Validity for Unused Tickets Amidst Closure
Knott's Berry Farm has announced a closure today, Monday, January 22, due to inclement weather conditions. Guests holding tickets for today can use them until February 25, 2024, as stated in a recent tweet from the park's official account.
However, refunds are not being offered as an option per the same post. This extension provides about a month for guests to reschedule their visit.
While this arrangement might suit many visitors, it could pose challenges for those vacationing in the area, especially considering the park's proximity to Disneyland Resort. These visitors may not have an additional day to return to the park.
'Inside the Magic,' a news source, reached out to Knott's Berry Farm for comments regarding their refund policy but has not received a response as of the publication of this article.
The recent closure of Knott's Berry Farm occurred just a week before the start of its Peanuts Celebration, an eagerly awaited annual event. This year's celebration, scheduled from January 27 to February 25, promises a special tribute to Franklin, coinciding with his appearance in a new special on Apple TV+.
Visitors can look forward to a variety of experiences during the celebration. Highlights include a limited-time exhibit about Franklin at Calico's Town Hall, a show titled "It's Your Life, Charlie Brown," and "Snoopy's Legendary Rooftop Concert."
Additionally, guests can participate in activities like the PEANUTS Sketch School and PEANUTS Cowboy Jamboree, visit Pigpen's Pig Pen, and interact with beloved characters. The celebration also features themed food, exclusive merchandise, and more for a complete Peanuts experience.
