Wendy's Frosty History
For over 50 years, Wendy's has served the Frosty Dairy Treat. It was one of five original things on Wendy's menu until now.
This famous treat was created in 1969 by Fred Kappus, CEO of Kappus Company, an Ohio-based company that sells food service equipment, and Dave Thomas, founder of Wendy's. Dave was looking for a frozen dairy treat to add to the menu of his new hamburger joint. He believed Fred might know of a recipe since he sold ice cream machines.
The Frosty was born because of that gut feeling. Kappus still sends Frosty machines to Wendy's stores worldwide, even though it's been over 50 years.
Customers can go to the nearest Wendy's or download their app to order this limited holiday treat before this season ends.
