Dunkin' Donuts introduced Thursday a coffee-flavored granola bar to cater to their on-the-go customers.
The pre-packaged Dunkin' Go Bar is a chewy granola bar flavored after the brand's Original Blend coffee. Each piece containes 220 calories, eight B-vitamins, 12 grams of whole grains, and seven grams of protein. The coffee and doughnut retailer will start offering the product in time with the National Coffee Day on Monday, September 29.
Dunkin' Go Bar will join the brand's growing grab-and-go menu, including bananas, cups of Munchkins doughnut hole treats, that are offered in the counter. To further expand this line, Dunkin' Donuts partnered with Wrigley Foodservice to also offer Orbit gum and Altoid mints. A separate display will feature the granola bars along with the Wrigley products.
According to John Castello, president of Global Marketing and Innovation, releasing the granola bar and collaborating with Wrigley reinforce the company's growth strategy. They plan to provide convenient meals to busy, always-on-the go individuals. The partnership starts on the October 1.
"The launch of our new Dunkin' Go Bar and Wrigley partnership reinforces our position as the brand best meeting the needs of busy people seeking innovative choices to keep running throughout the day," said Castello.
In celebration of the Dunkin' Go Bar launce, the company held a Dunkin' Twitter Sweepstakes. Participants only need to mention @DunkinDonuts on Twitter and answer which North American state they most want to visit with the hashtag #DunkinGOsweeps. No purchase is necessary to join the contest, as the only restriction is that every participant must be 18 years old and above.
People who used the hashtag can win $50 vouchers, while one grand winner receives JetBlue vouchers to travel to their chosen destination. Dunkin' Donuts is the sole coffee provider of JetBlue, with the brand's coffee and doughnuts are served on-board the airline's all American flights.
Dunkin' Go Bars will be served in participating stores as a permanent part of the grab-and-go menu starting September 29.
