Fazoli's same-store sales jumps 4.9 percent in August same-stores, surpassing the quick-service industry which was up by less than 1 percent.
Italian restaurant favorite Fazoli's reported growth in same-store sales of 4.9 percent. The fast-casual chain's revenues have been steadily increasing for 17 months. Same-store franchise restaurant sales were up by 5.6 percent.
Traffic was not an issue for the restaurant, as an increasing number of people come to Fazoli's last month. The restaurant reported that 2.8 percent more people came to the stores last August.
The average check for the month of August also increased by 2. 1 percent.
Overall, the restaurant reported that the number of people coming to the stores was up by 1.9 percent, while the average check for the year also increased by 3.6 percent.
"Fazoli's franchisees are giving guests a great experience and outstanding value every day, and that is being reflected in their traffic and sales," as quoted by Carl Howard, Fazoli's president and CEO.
Franchisees, which make up 50 percent of all branches of Fazoli's, also help boost the restaurant's rank above its competitors, according to Howard.
"The combination of innovative, new limited-time menu offers, including the current Stuffed Pasta Selects, our service style that features table service and our new restaurant design all create a unique experience guests cannot get elsewhere at our price point," he added.
The restaurant has been on top of its game for the past months. Current franchisees are reporting same-store sales of 50 for nearly 5 straight years.
The annual sales produced by the Fazoli's stores are record-breaking and thus attracting prospective franchisees.
Fazoli's plans to build two new franchise units in Kentucky. The fast-casual joint is also planning to go overseas, as a deal with the World Franchise Associates assured Fazoli's to build franchises in Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain and Oman.
Aside from that, Fazoli's plans to open a college campus restaurant in Oct. 1 at Texas Tech University.
The restaurant expects to put up 15 new franchised locations this year.
