Protestors fighting against a July ruling by the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB), which counts McDonald's USA LLC as a "joint employer respondent," rallied in Washington, D.C. on Tuesday, The Hill reports.
Demonstrators were a combination of fast food franchise owners and hotel operators from around the nation.
McDonald's corporate managers would be forced to collective bargaining discussions with labor leaders if the NLRB ruling is upheld. However, many labor leaders have praised the NLRB ruling, saying it would place limits on the company's abuse of employees.
"We're going to make our voices heard," IFA President Steve Caldeira said, according to the site.
"It would have a chilling effect on job creation," he said.
McDonald's has not released a public statement about the controversial ruling.
