Orangetheory Fitness Announces New Chief Operating Officer

David Carney is now the new Chief Operating officer of Orangetheory Fitness franchise.

The company hired health and fitness expert Carney, having more than 29 of experience in the industry and a prior knowledge in running multi-club operations which includes devising and enforcing formal operational systems and platforms in health, wellness and fitness companies, as well as looking after several business units.

When asked about the new chief operating officer of the company, "David's arrival comes at a serendipitous time, as the Orangetheory continues to expand and strengthen the internal resources that bring value to our franchise partners," Dave Long, chief executive officer of Orangetheory Fitness.

Long and the Orangetheory team agree that Carney is an excellent addition to their team and will mobilize the franchise network positively.

He has leadership capabilities and possesses positive characteristics such as being "collaborative, passionate and humble," Long added.

Before working with Orangetheory Fitness, Carney was the president and chief executive officer of The Rush Fitness Corporation, where he spearheaded transforming the company's organizational structure.

He also managed 23 fitness clubs in three states in the U.S. Carney also looked after 50+ clubs including handling of assets and big studio renovations, making corporate policies and procedures to help improve sales of fitness companies in prominent regions throughout the U.S.

Carney studied corporate wellness and human psychology from the State University of New York at Cortland and continued graduate studies in the exercise science department at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.

Meanwhile, the fitness center offers services such as the 60-minute heart-rate monitors, high-intensity interval training that encouraged thousands of its members to lose weight, get toned and become fit and healthy.

Orangetheory Fitness is one of the world's top fitness franchises. The company owns more than 124 studios in 28 states and plans to open 500 by 2017.
