Ken Kanter worked for 20 years as a technician in the American Leak Detection company located in Jupiter before deciding to own a part of the company he's long been serving.
Co-owners Bill and Karen Peterson will still own majority of the company.
Meanwhile, Kanter will now take his new role as Director of Operations of the company and a full owner through instalment sale over the next several years.
Kanter took criminology in Florida Atlantic University for a few months then went on to start working with American Leak Detection, working on its infrared cameras and other equipment.
Kanter finds joy in dealing with customers and addressing issues that plumbers and other companies sometimes take for granted.
When asked about their newest co-owner and addition to the American Leak Detection Franchise's family, Karen Peterson, franchise co-owner said "Ken is like a son to us and we could not be happier to have him as a partner."
"He was our first technician and has seen our business grow and thrive. We are confident that he will continue the success," she added.
Patrick Desouza, President and CEO of American Leak Detection admits that he is happy about Kanter's decision and is deem Kanter as perfect for the job because he has witnessed the progress of the company for 20 years.
American Leak Detection of The Palm Beaches provide leak detection service for homes, businesses and municipalities and serve 1.8 million people in West Palm Beach, Boca Raton, Port St. Lucie and Fort Pierce communities.
The company offers six service trucks that serve St. Lucie, Maratin and Palm Beach counties.
The company also provides several services including pool and slab leak detection and potable and "mystery leak" detections.
The company employs technicians to use modern innovative technology to provide their services without causing damage to the customers' properties.
