Popular coffee franchise Starbucks is considering changing its policies on employees and visible tattoo ink, the Seattle Times reports, possibly allowing their team members more flexibility.
The company's Chief Operating Officer Troy Alstead mentioned in an internal email last week that they will revise the chain's "dress code, including the tattoo policy," according to the newspaper.
Controversy over Starbucks' policy largely began last month when employee Kristie Williams from Atlanta launched a Coworker.org petition asking for signature in an effort to change the rule, which has gotten support from over 20,000 people.
"The day I buy my first short-sleeved shirt will definitely be a great day," Williams said, according to the Huffington Post.
"I know personally I could work better and faster if I wasn't sweating and fussing with my sleeves all the time at work in order to hide my tattoo."
Starbucks has not made a public announcement surrounding the regulation.
