The latest move helps increase their low sales performance

McDonald's will launch more variety of healthy items to kids' meals as well as selling their premium coffee to help boos their sales.

The famous food chain will launch mandarin oranges in their Happy Meals and Mighty Kids Meals. It will start this fall. McCafe coffee will also be sold in retail stores in year 2015.

However, one of the brand's official stated that the pricing for the mandarin oranges has yet to be finalized.

At present, consumers of Happy Meals or Mighty Kids Meals have Go-Gurt less fat strawberry yogurt and apple slices as their options.

McDonald's is running test on junior bananas offered in Happy Meals in Texas. But it will still be under study once we see the results of such test.

The brand started to introduce bagged pieces of apple slices in each kids' meal last March 2012. The brand has been serving over 1.1 billion bags of apple slices from them on.

Kraft Foods Group is the new partner of McDonald's for the other move of making McCafe open to retail selling.

Ground coffee will have 12oz. bags in breakfast blend, French roast, premium roast, French vanilla, hazelnut flavors, Colombian and premium roast decaf. The French roast whole-bean will also be seen in grocery racks soon.

"We are aware that there is a massive demand for our coffee to be available at home. And our McCafes have been doing well. So we wanted to satisfy the needs of our consumers by pursuing this move and offer McCafe coffee blends at grocery stores," as one of the brand's officials explained.

Kraft Foods' Nina Barton said, "the partnership with them will give us the opportunity to maximize both company's capabilities to position at top spot and eventually give growth to all of us."

"By joining the massive following of McCafe, we will for sure increase its numbers through our expertise on coffee industry. With our followers joining their fans it will for sure bring us promising results then," she added.
