Dairy Queen Set Up Shop in Athens

| By

Athens is the new home of yet another Dairy Queen branch, as Daiy Queen opened its DQ Grill and Chill® restaurant in 3465 Jefferson at Jones Petroleum gas station.

The 2,571 square-foot branch can seat 47 guests inside and can service drive-thru customers as well.

The store boosted Athens' employment by putting up 50 new jobs.

"We are excited to open our second DQ Grill and Chill restaurant in Athens and welcome the community in to enjoy our full menu of cravable food items, signature and innovative treats and Orange Julius® Premium Fruit Smoothies, Light Smoothies and Julius® Original drinks," stated restaurant operator Natalie Jones in Franchising.com.

The store also offers breakfast items such as pancakes, breakfast sandwiches, biscuits and gravy. DQ offers value meals, $5 Buck Lunch, available everyday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Athens DQ Grill and Chill Restaurant.

Guests can savor Bacon Cheeseburger, quarter-pound GrillBurgerTM with cheese, 3-piece Chicken Strip Lunch and Chili Cheese Dog, all of which served with fries, a choice beverage and sundae. And for an additional $1, the customers can enjoy an upgrade of their small sundae to a small Blizzard® Treat.

The store houses brand favorites such as the classic Blizzard Treats, DQ Cakes and a smorgasbord of other soft-serve items.

Aside from that, the branch also offers the full line Orange Julius fruit-blended beverages. All Orange Julius Premium Fruit Smoothies, Light Smoothies and Julius Original drinks are available in a wide variety of flavors including Orange, Mango Pineapple, Strawberry, Strawberry Banana, Berry Pomegranate, Orange berry, Tripleberry® and Piña Colada.

The Orange Julius Premium Fruit Smoothies are freshly blended and made to order with real fruit and low-fat yogurt, while the Orange Julius Light Smoothies contain no artificial flavors and are yogurt-free.

Dairy Queen has 6,300 locations in the U.S., Canada and 25 other countries and led by Warren Buffet of Berkshire Hathaway.
