Japan will now experience The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf as the brand announced that it will award its franchise to the country. The brand, together with L.A. Style, will be working with Hotland Co. Ltd. And Aeon Mall Co. Ltd., on this expansion project. It will be put up by Japan's biggest shopping mall contractor.
L.A. Style Inc. plans to open 200 stores all over Japan, which will open the pilot store by the end of 2014.
The agreement is an indicator of the brand's existence in 25 countries and is nearing to 1,000 company-managed and franchise units in different parts of the world.
"Putting up branches in Japan is definitely something to look forward to since we know the market are looking for high quality coffee and tea drinking experience. We love to introduce the brand to the community and allow them to try our products. We trust L.A. Style for its established footprint on this industry as well as its experience all through the years. This will definitely bring rapid growth to our partnership with them as we go along. Asia is our next target for expansion," the CEO and President John Dawson, commented.
This planned expansion in Japan will be the latest business move of the brand, since Dawson took over early of January this year. It was the partnership with private equity corporations, Mirae Private Equity and Advent International and CDIB Capital invested in the company, which eventually pursued the said expansion. Apart from the growth development project of The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, it also invested in its home market Southern California region. They have opened more stores as well as reinforcing their executive personnel that are of high caliber. The organization is very focused on growth and development move from the internal to external aspect of the business.
