Pizza Hut launches its new campaign, The Visa Checkout One Million Pizza. It gives out free pizza to consumers who are paying online through Visa Checkout.
First one million consumers who buy a large pizza on Pizza Hut website and use Visa Checkout will get a coupon that entitles them for a free one-topping pizza. This can be redeemed on their next purchase. And the coupon will only be valid for 14 days.
A television ad campaign that features Kolohe Andino, a surfer pro, tries it out. The commercials shows Andino is using Visa Checkout to pay for his order using his mobile phone.
Last July, the partnership of Visa and Pizza Hut was launched in their campaign for new online payment platform.
"This new online service gives consumers another option for faster order online from Pizza Hut. We are thrilled to be the first pizza brand that offer this type of service to customers," according to chief marketing officer of Pizza Hut, Carrie Walsh. "With the chance to win one million pizzas, our customers will definitely get excited to tryout this new service."
Pizza Hut found the need of consumers for fast and convenient payment when ordering their pizza. The brand has been working hard on this to be out this year.
"The business has started to evolve from walking to the stores to PCs, tablets and mobile phones and it continues to go on," said Baron Concors global chief digital officer during the webcast last July. "These tech gadgets have replaced the older ones and they will for sure go on with payment modes from paper to digital options. Our aim is to be in the loop and offer better service to our consumers."
About half of Pizza Hut's online transactions last 2013 came from mobile app, as per the food chain's report.
