Papa John’s offers $10 menu deals for NFL season ‘Kickoff Special’

| By

Papa John's International is offering a $10 NFL "Kickoff Special" commemorating the start of the NFL season.

The initiative, which began late last month, runs until September 28 and includes a large, two-topping pizza for just $10 and a chocolate chip cookie for $5, the Wall Street Journal reports.

"For the past four years Papa John's International and the National Football League have been cooking up ideas to engage with passionate football fans," John Schnatter, founder and chief executive officer of Papa John's told the newspaper.

"Papa John's sponsorship with the NFL has led to increased marketing exposure in local markets and financial gains for franchisees, based on 20 sponsorships with individual teams in 2014. Together our products--the games and the pizza--are satisfying the appetite of football fans across the country."

Papa John's traditionally offers specials on pizza and other menu items throughout the beginning of NFL season. The company is also expected to launch a promotional campaign in late September featuring the 2013 Associated Press NFL Most Valuable Player Peyton Manning and Schnatter will air nationwide to promote the "Kickoff Special," the Wall Street Journal also reports.

The pizza chain has not publically announced profit figures related to the "Kickoff Special."
