During the Brazilian FIFA World Cup, a well-known football player appeared in one of the commercials. The England and Liverpool FC footballer Daniel Sturridge is named as the latest SUBWAY famous fan. He will appear in TV ad as the newest famous personality who loves to eat healthy.
Before the start of the tournament, Daniel will join the advertising campaign for SUBWAY, together with his childhood idol Pele. In the ad, Pele will appear giving advice to the Liverpool player, before showing how it motivated Sturridge becomes the football player he is today. The television commercial is an extension of the My Sub, My Way ad and will introduce the Low Fat Chicken Teriyaki. This is Daniel's personal favorite.
"I am very excited to be part of the current SUBWAY Famous Fan, like other great personalities who are at the height of their respective sports and also together with my childhood idol Pele. As a football player, taking care of myself if very important and I am honored to be in partnership with the SUBWAY brand and to become an inspiration to young individuals to be more active everyday," said Daniel.
Regional Marketing Director for the SUBWAY brand in Europe, Manaaz Akhtar said, "We are also excited to work with a very talented player like Daniel who is an avid fan of the SUBWAY brand. Giving everyone healthier and great options is imperative to us, and that is the reason why we have been focusing on the development of our lesser fat choices to help everybody eat well and encourage an active lifestyle, regardless of their goals."
This press release comes after the latest news that the SUBWAY brand closed a multi-year partnership with Liverpool Football Club as the Official Training Food partner.
