Dunkin Donuts new selection of Peep donuts will have actual Peeps marshmallow edible chicks when they hit select locations of the company Monday for the spring and Easter season according to a press release on the company's website.
"As America's donut leader, we are always seeking new and innovative donut varieties to help our guests celebrate special moments and occasions," Stan Frankenthaler, Dunkin' Brands' executive chef and vice president of production innovation at Dunkin Donuts said in a statement. "PEEPS are synonymous with fun and happiness, and we are excited to combine two American favorites to create unique flower-shaped donuts adorned with a marshmallow chick that will sweeten any spring or Easter celebration," Frankenthaler said in the statement.
The donuts look like flowers, and are donned with pink or green icing, with the peep sitting on the top over color paste icing.
"We are excited to partner with Dunkin' Donuts to introduce Peeps Donuts and provide millions of people a delicious new way to express their personality this season," Brian Bachrach, senior marketing manager of innovation at Just Born Quality Confections said in a statement. "Peeps and Dunkin' Donuts have both built passionate and active communities of fans and have been creating smiles for more than 60 years, and we look forward to continuing that tradition with this unique and fun donut," Bachrach said in the statement.
Dunkin Donuts offered cookie dough donuts, and re-introduced its infamous Brownie Batter donut for a special Valentines Day promotion.a press release reported.
Customers also enjoyed Dunkin Donuts latest Brown Sugar Cinnamon Coffee and Lattees with their treat.
Red velvet drizzle donuts with an icing glaze, and decorated with cream cheese, a holiday star donut in the shape of a star with bavarian crème inside, and green icing, and white star sprinkles on top were also available during the holiday season.
Holiday coffee and red velvet lattes that taste like red velvet cakes and cream cheese frosting similar to that of the infamous cake product, peppermint mocha, and white chocolate in hot or iced form were also on the menu.
