Oppo Find 7 Launches with World's First QHD Screen and Snapdragon

| By

On Wednesday, Chinese mobile manufacturer Oppo pushed the benchmark for low cost handsets with its announcement of its flagship phone, the 5.5-inch Find 7.

According to Tom's Hardware, Find 7 will be available in two versions, with both versions powered by the same processor but clocked differently. The high res version features what Oppo claims as the world's first QHD mobile screen with a resolution of 2560x1440, cranking the pixel density to 538 ppi. Both of the versions feature Qualcomm's Snapdragon 801 MSM8974AC SoC with a quad-core CPU clocked at 2.5 ghz and 2.3 ghz.

The phones run a customized Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, which Oppo calls Color OS, according to CNET. The high res phone is supported by 3 GB RAM and 32 GB storage. The Snapdragon chipset features Adreno 330 graphics. The low res version is equipped with 2 GB RAM and 16 GB storage.

The primary difference between both the phones is the screen resolution, Tom's Hardware reported. While the high res phone is meant to take the mobile world by storm with its QHD screen, the low res phone features a full-HD 5.5 inch screen and a 2,800 mAh battery, pitting it against the massive 3,000 mAh battery in its more powerful sibling.

Think Digit reported both the phones feature a 13 megapixel camera rear camera that boasts being able to shoot a 4K video and 720 p 120 fps. Another talk-worthy feature of the phone's camera is the Super Zoom mode in which the user can click a series of 10 photos and makes a 50 megapixel pic by choosing four of the best from the series. The rear camera shoots at 5 megapixels.

The phone was announced by Allen Wu, Oppo's Vice President domestic (China) division, CNET said. It further said that Find 7 is expected to cost $599 while the low res version will retail at $499. The phones are expected to be launched mid-April.
