Was Bitcoin's Creator Finally Found in California? Real Satoshi Nakamoto Discovered

| By

The anonymous creator of Bitcoin is a 64-year-old, American-Japanese man living in the vicinity of Los Angeles, a Newsweek report claimed on Thursday.

According to the report, the name Satoshi Nakamoto is not a pseudonym for Bitcoin's creator, as was previously thought. Instead, it's a real name. The creator was supposedly born in July 1949 in Beppu, Japan.

Newsweek's Leah Goodman two-month-long investigations led her to Dorian Prentice Satoshi Nakamoto, a father of six who now lives in San Bernardino. Newsweek's efforts to get Nakamoto to talk on Bitcoin were not successful, but Newsweek added that Nakamoto said he did not want to talk about "it".

"I am no longer involved in that and I cannot discuss it. It's been turned over to other people. They are in charge of it now. I no longer have any connection."

The Newsweek report said that Nakamoto likes collecting model trains and has done classified work for the U.S. military and other corporations.

The report also quoted Nakamoto's younger brother Arthur Nakamoto saying that his brother was brilliant and focused, but that he would never admit to creating Bitcoin.

"He was the kind of person who, if you made an honest mistake, he might call you an idiot and never speak to you again," Bitcoin's Chief Scientist Gavin Andresen told Newsweek.

"Back then, it was not clear that creating Bitcoin might be a legal thing to do. He went to great lengths to protect his anonymity," he added.

Newsweek's investigations have received mixed reactions, and some members of Bitcoin community have also expressed skepticism, TheTelegraph said on Thursday.

"Unless he can do a signed transaction from an address known to be that of the originator of bitcoin, then I dont believe, sorry," the telegraph quoted one of the reactions to Newsweek report.

Satoshi Nakamoto is believed to be sitting on a huge fortune of Bitcoin currency.
