Motorola to Release New Moto X Smartphone in India

| By

Motorola announced it will release its new Moto X smartphone in India in a few weeks after a successful release of the Moto G.

The Moto X is Motorola's flagship smartphone and contains a variety of features, including a fast camera, different customizable designs and voice command capabilities, according to CNET. The Moto X costs $400, which is cheaper than competitors such as the HTC One, Samsung Galaxy S4, and Apple's iPhone 5.

The new smartphone features a 4.7-inch HD screen, according to India Today. The phone is powered by a dual-processor and 2GB RAM, and comes in 16-GB and 32-GB internal storage forms. The phone also features a 10-megapixel primary and 2-megapixel secondary camera.

According to BGR, Moto X presents additional features, such as a voice assistant that responds to voice commands without the user having to touch any buttons, even when the phone is in standby mode and the display is off. The camera comes with motion-based controls, in which the user only needs to twist his/her wrist twice to ready the camera to click pictures.

The active display on the phone shows notifications on the lock screen as soon as the user lifts the phone, BGR reported. Detailed view can be accessed without unlocking the phone, making it more accessible to the user.

Moto X's co-processors work when the phone is not in active use, according to BGR. One focuses on the active display and sensing motion, while the other listens for voice commands to wake up the phone. The Android includes Motorola Assistance, which detects if the user is driving and reads out the caller's name for their convenience.

The Moto X may not be coming to India with Moto Maker, the online tool that lets users customize their Moto Xs which is currently available in the U.S., Indiatimes reported. Motorola tweeted on Monday that Moto Maker will be available in Western Europe and Mexico in the second quarter of this year.
